Thoughts are Things

Mike Dooley, author of Infinite Possibilities, Playing the Matrix, plus many other books, states: “thoughts are things.” Because he is talking about manifesting and the law of attraction, he brings home the importance of paying attention to our thoughts.

Fill Your Mind with Positives

In my journey to coming alive, I realized I had a lot of past thinking that had become almost hard-wired in my brain. I decided I would read, write, watch, and research to find positive thoughts to fill my mind instead.

Every time I found something that resonated with me, I would put it on a card to read first thing in the morning. I also would put new insights that came in this endeavor on a card. I had a lot of cards and they always lifted me first thing in the morning.

It is a fascinating place to go if you decide to fill your mind with positives. You will find it rewarding to see if you can find the thoughts and feelings that truly touch you.

Some Examples

When I ran across this one, I made a card for it and read it first thing in the morning. It always warms my heart and reminds me of my goodness:

Good Morning you beautiful thing.

Good Morning, you blessed, prosperous, successful, strong, talented, creative, confident, secure, honest, disciplined, focused, highly favored child of God.

Another one I keep on my nightstand to help me if I’m feeling off:

Think of something that brings me:

    • Contentment
    • Hopefulness
    • Enthusiasm
    • Empowerment

Those two cards so resonate with me, I always feel good reading or thinking about them.

How to Know if You Found the Right Affirmations?

There are two criteria to find the affirmations that will change what you are thinking about.

  1. The affirmation must feel possible for you – each one of those characteristics listed on my first card are areas I have processed and truly feel are real for me. If the words you find don’t feel possible for you, you will find yourself in an inner fight and can end up causing you to not move forward.
  2. If the affirmation warms your heart and motivates you to think differently then you’ve hit on it.

Make your thoughts become the things you truly want in your life.
