The Habits Your Superpower Daily Rituals Bring

Why Are Daily Rituals Valuable for You?

You may have heard people talking about how daily rituals can enhance your life. One of the reasons daily rituals are so valuable is that they become supercharged habits. When you create your daily rituals, you are combining a number of habits and putting them together with activities you emotionally connect with. Then your rituals become empowering on many levels.

When you set up a morning or evening ritual, you actually free up your day to get focused on your work. You have taken care of yourself first through your rituals.  Rather than wait “until you have time” to do some self-care or have time to yourself, you have accomplished this in your daily routine.

The true power of rituals exists because when you create them, you tap into what is valuable and significant to you and you reinforce the direction you want your life to go.

If you would like to look into supercharging your habits by putting them into your rituals, three favorite books of mine are: Atomic Habits by James Clear, The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business by Charles Duhigg, and Mini Habits: Smaller Habits, Bigger Results by Stephen Guise.

Do Rituals Work?

Rituals can be extremely effective. New understanding brings change and when you focus on doing something different in a positive manner, it will bring you the new understanding you need to make the changes you want.

Rituals are a commitment to keep digging deeper with perseverance until you succeed. This brings an understanding of how to manifest every goal you set.

Why Are Rituals Powerful?

A simple answer to this question is because they become habits focused on what makes you move toward your personal and business intentions. When your rituals represent your thinking and feeling goals, you become empowered especially when you start to see results.

Your rituals can be about any aspect of your life—finances, relationships, manifesting, spiritual, lifestyle, and anything you would like to explore in depth.

The above lists are just a few. Know you can make anything into a productive ritual.

Five Steps to Create A Ritual

  1. Find a place to journal, meditate, have a cup of tea or coffee or any of your ritual activities. Make it feel special, even sacred. Use candles, scents, music, and lighting to create an atmosphere of relaxation and empowerment to connect to your deeper self.
  2. Decide when you are best able to do your rituals – morning, evening, mid-day, or all of them. Ask yourself how much time you can devote to your rituals. Rituals do not have to take a lot of time.
  3. Set an intention for your ritual beforehand. How would you like to feel when you are done?
  4. Pick three to five activities (or more if you have time) that bring you to calm or fill you with happiness when you take the time for yourself.
  5. Be flexible with your rituals. When new ideas come– add them. When ideas no longer excite or motivate you–delete them. Remember your rituals are about finding a self-expression of yourself.

One Caution About Rituals

One caution about creating your daily rituals—don’t make your rituals into a to-do list that you obsess about getting done each day. In other words, pick activities that fill you with joy and warmth. Let go of anything that causes you to feel pressured. Also, if you are tired or have an overly full schedule, let all or some of your activities go for a day. This is your time, make it work for you.
