How Do I Express My Love Toward Myself?

For many months I have been on a quest to reverse diabetes. It led me to dig deep into my thoughts and feelings. I started to put love into everything I experienced–challenges, old and new relationships, and past baggage. Learning the meaning of love and how to express it was my mission. It was such a rewarding experience.

This journey led me to a life filled with all types of love and to what I call my Cycle of Success. It became the foundation of a daily adventure in everything that turned out well.

Yet, I still had trouble with cravings for food especially when I was tired. I continued my work — journaling, processing, and asking myself, “What is it I need to understand to feel I’ve healed my food and weight issues?”

The answer came–I was giving love to everything and everyone except myself. Whoa! As typical, I started a list–How Do I Express Love to Myself?

Here is some of the list that I rewrite every day with a feeling of deep love for the words:

  • Create a loving music playlist and listen to it often.
  • I slow down and am gentle with myself.
  • I honor commitments to myself.
  • I am clear, calm, and empowered.
  • I believe in myself.
  • I move toward projects, people, and ideas that energize and bring out my love for myself.
  • Read, and re-read loving quotes such as, “You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire Universe deserves your love and affection.” Buddha
  • I welcome all forms of loving into my life.
  • I am whole, healthy, and strong.
  • My true nature is love and joy.
  • I am worthy of love, I am enough.
  • I listen with love to my body’s messages.

There are many, many more.
