Daily Rituals
Trying to stay focused on those goals that have been a real challenge?
Trying to figure out what you need to learn to move forward?
Trying to calm all those doubts about yourself that keep coming up?
That was me a few years ago: Trying, trying, trying.
Then reading about how daily rituals can be beneficial in making changes, I thought I’d give it a whirl.
I started my first daily ritual with journaling. I had so many feelings from my past that were interfering with my life physically, emotionally, and mentally. Getting them out in my journal really helped sort them out.
Over the years, my daily rituals changed as I grew and became more aware. During a particularly difficult time, I had a number of journals going all at once because I had so much to sort out.
These days my morning daily rituals include such activities as:
- Affirming my physical well-being is my #1 priority, food is only for fuel, and I can feel all my feelings without having to comfort myself with food.
- Affirm I’m going to watch for signs I’m on the right path.
- Pick one of my dreams/goals to visualize.
My evening rituals include regrouping my day:
- List what I was grateful for that happened during my day.
- Process any challenges or stress I encountered.
- Reading something inspiring or educational
- Meditating
When my life changes and I move forward to new areas, my rituals will get updated to fit what I want to focus on currently. Or, I might have read an article or book that inspires me to add something.
This is what I love about my daily rituals. They are dynamic, enlightening, and keep me emotionally strong, mentally focused, and HAPPY.
